21st Century Skills

Students often have hard time to process through their lesson in the school environments, due to many reasons, nowadays often told as 21st century skills. 21st century skills are regarded as the skills needed for today's student to adapt, perform and achieve in their classrooms.

The 4 C's include skills of critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication. Critical thinking consists of various stages for learning, with some of the stages being questioning, interpreting, evaluating, etc... It enables for learners to take situations and questions into account from certain ways, thus creating a pool of output. Creativity on the other hand, resembles to critical thinking but differs in terms of innovation. Creativity leads to formation of different ideas, enabling the learners to have a brighter light to enlighten their point of view. Collaboration is also tied to this chain of similarity, in terms of creating new ideas. Team work between students will strengthen their way of thinking. Communication is adhered to collaboration as without communication, the collaboration is condemned to fail.

When practiced and activated, these skills are most likely to improve the learning of students, that is, if the teachers are also equipped and aware of these skills.
